School Development Plan
Our School Development Plan: A Shared Vision for Growth
At Orritor Primary School and Nursery Unit, our three-year School Development Plan (SDP) reflects a strategic and collaborative vision for continuous improvement across all aspects of school life. Developed with input from pupils, parents, staff, governors, and wider stakeholders, the SDP outlines key priorities in teaching and learning, wellbeing, inclusion, and community engagement. It serves as a roadmap to guide our progress, ensuring that every child receives high-quality education in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The plan is reviewed annually to monitor impact and adapt to emerging needs, keeping our school responsive and forward-thinking.
Making the SDP Meaningful for Children
A unique feature of our SDP is its accessibility to pupils. We have created a child-friendly version of the plan, displayed in classrooms, so that children understand the goals we are working towards together. This approach empowers pupils to take ownership of their learning and wellbeing, and encourages active participation in school life. By making the purpose of the SDP clear and relatable, we foster a culture of shared responsibility and pride in our school’s development.
Celebrating Progress: What We Achieved Last Year
Throughout the past year, Orritor Primary School and Nursery Unit made meaningful progress in line with the priorities set out in our School Development Plan. We focused on enhancing learning experiences, promoting pupil wellbeing, and strengthening connections with families and the wider community. Staff worked collaboratively to implement new initiatives, and pupils were actively involved in shaping aspects of school life. Our commitment to continuous improvement was evident in the range of activities, programmes, and events that supported both academic and personal development across the school.
