Tiny Creatures, Big Discoveries in P2πŸŒπŸ¦ŸπŸ›πŸž

23rd Jun 2025

P2 have been getting up close and personal with some of nature’s tiniest creatures in our Minibeasts topic.

A few weeks ago, we welcomed some very special guests to our classroom - snails! 🐌 The children showed amazing care and responsibility, making sure our new slimy friends were well looked after. Using our magnifying glasses, we observed our snails and discussed what they looked like. We talked about the different shell patterns and tried to draw them from different viewpoints, including what a bird would see looking down from the sky. πŸ”

After observing them carefully, we gave them a proper send off - releasing them into our very own bug hotel, complete with snail-friendly surroundings. We even planted some wildflowers to grow beneath to invite even more insects! Talk about 5-star accommodation! 🌟

Our creativity fluttered into action as we designed our own beautiful butterfly gardens, full of colour and imagination. We brought our gardens to life with a bit of tech magic. Working together, we used the BeeBots to programme directions to help them move around and explore our creative gardens. πŸ¦‹

We investigated loads of different creepy crawlies and enjoyed taking out our Minibeasts books to read and learn together. We had lots of fun solving mystery Minibeast puzzles by describing similarities and differences between the tiny creatures.  πŸžπŸ›πŸ¦Ÿ
