Shared Education fun at St. Peter’s Nursery Unit
The Nursery children were so excited to travel to St. Peter's Nursery Unit by bus. The children couldn't wait to see their new friends. The children all played together in Nursery before splitting into two smaller groups to take part in FitMinds sessions with Ronan.
Ronan's sessions were again focused on physical development and inclusion. He encouraged the children to find a partner and find out a little information about them. The children listened very well, practicing their movement skills with their new friends.
One of Ronan's activities was to work together with a length of rope. For the first activity the children had to take it in turns to be a horse and the rider. The children worked very well together in their partnerships. Next the children worked on their arm and shoulder muscles, pulling the rope with their partners. Finally the children pretended the ropes were snakes and they had to jump over them! The children then practiced slithering like snakes.
A fun morning was had by everyone. Two of the leaders of the Aspire Project were in attendance to film for publicity and they couldn't believe how fantastic the children were, well done everyone! We are so proud of you.
The Nursery children can not wait for our next visit to St. Peter's. A big thank you to our Parent helpers that made this trip possible.
