What a terrific day we had at The Palace Stables, Armagh!
We stepped back in time with Mr. Heaney, the evacuee officer, who shared stories of wartime life — including the curious case of banana-flavoured parsnips! 🍌🥕
We met an American GI who taught us how to salute, led us through exciting gun drills, and even challenged us to crack a secret wartime code — teamwork and brainpower required! 🧠🔐💥
We also explored an underground air raid shelter, getting a feel for what life was like during WWII.
We even made our own identity cards so no one would mistake us for German spies! 🕵️♀️
