It has been another energetic and joyful week at Orritor Primary School & Nursery Unit. The classrooms and corridors have been filled with enthusiasm, hard work, and plenty of smiling faces
.
Our After-School Clubs continued this week, giving pupils from Primary 1 to Primary 7 the chance to enjoy a wide range of fun and engaging activities. From sporting challenges to creative workshops, the children have been making the most of every opportunity
.
We were delighted to present our Pupil of the Month Awards on Thursday, with a focus on World Around Us. It was wonderful to see the impressive learning happening across all classes and to read the thoughtful reasons behind each award. Well done to every pupil who shone so brightly this month 
.
A huge congratulations to our football team, who finished joint winners of the Indoor Tri-County Schools Futsal Tournament today! The boys played outstanding football throughout and ended the event undefeated 
.
A big thank you to Mr Millington for preparing and coaching the team.
Primary 6 enjoyed an excellent final day at MUSA as part of their Future Visions Programme. Pupils and staff took part in a range of exciting activities, making the day both memorable and fun. Thank you to all facilitators for your energy and the brilliant experiences provided
.
This week our Excellent 8 value was Self-Worth — recognising that everyone is unique, capable, and deserving of respect

Nursery–P2: believing in themselves and knowing they are amazing
P3–P4: recognising that they are special and capable
P5–P7: understanding their individual strengths and qualities
Well done to all pupils for celebrating who they are and continuing to show confidence and kindness
.
Primary 6 completed their fourth swimming session of the year, and their progress has been excellent. It’s lovely to see their confidence in the water growing each week 
.
Primary 4 pupils enjoyed their first Shared Education session at Parkanaur with St Mary’s Primary School. Even with a little damp weather, the children had a great time taking part in the planned activities. Thank you to all staff from Parkanaur, Orritor PS, and St Mary’s for making the day so positive and enjoyable
.
Parent–Teacher Meetings will take place from Monday 2nd February to Friday 6th February.

Our School Subjects Table Quiz takes place on Friday 6 February at 7.30pm in Cookstown Hockey Club.
