The children in Nursery were very excited to welcome the children from St. Peter’s Nursery Unit to our school for our first Aspire – Shared Education visit. The children had lots of fun playing together in Nursery.
Coach Ronan came to deliver a very exciting session based on physical development and teamwork. The children had to work together with Ronan’s stretchy bands—exploring how the bands moved and using their muscles to stretch and pull them. They then had to work together to move the band, making rowing movements in a group to “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” and “Rock the Boat.” Lots of fun was had as the children worked together to co-ordinate their movements.
Finally, the children worked on their hand strength, squeezing the balls and then swapping them with their new friends on signal.
As Ronan says… “We did it!” All the children enjoyed their dance at the end!
We can’t wait to go and visit St. Peter’s children next month!
