Nursery were so excited to welcome St. Peter's Nursery to Orritor. We had lots of fun playing together and then it was time to have fun with 33 Activities in the hall.
Rachael had a fun filled morning for us. First we warmed up with a game of Simon Says. Then we moved onto thinking about spatial awareness, negotiating around the cones without stepping on them.
Next up was a teamwork game, we had to place all the balls on the cones. Rachael then made it harder as she tried to catch us with her pool noodle! The children all worked so well together placing the balls on the cones and freeing the other children that had been caught by Rachael! We helped Rachael tidy up the cones and then it was straight into football skills.
We split into teams, each team had to bring the ball up to the cone and then try to score a goal. If the ball went in the net the children got a scoop of ice cream (a cone). The winners were the team with the most scoops of ice cream on their cones.
We warmed down with some more games - negotiating around each other with our cone steering wheels, balancing the cones on our heads and throwing and catching them.
A big thank you to 33 Activities for a morning packed with fun and learning. Thank you to all our parent helpers that came to ensure the day could happen. Thank you to Michelle from Aspire who came to join the fun. Finally a big thank you to all the children from Orritor and St. Peter's who were excellent and had so much fun. We can't wait for our next trip.
