Mid Ulster First Responders Demonstration Evening.

24th Jun 2025

A big thank you to The Mid Ulster Community First Responders who came to school to give demonstrations on CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

This was a fantastic night throughly enjoyed by the grown ups and children alike. The information could prove life saving and we really appreciate all the Mid Ulster Community First Responders giving up their time to come to Orritor and to give us these valuable life saving skills.

Mags showed us their trauma teddies (see photo), these are huggable teddies that can be given to comfort children on their calls. The Mid Ulster Community First Responders have attended a significant number of calls where children have been present and these teddies could be used as a comfort and / or distraction. We thought it might be nice to give back and keep supporting the Mid Ulster First Responders over the summer by collecting teddies for the new term. If you see a small teddy, they have to fit in the kit bags (around the size of a female adult foot!) over the summer we could collect these and present them to The Mid Ulster First Responders in the new school year.

A big thank you to all the grown ups and children who took part and donated so generously. The donations will be added to the money already raised and presented to The Mid Ulster Community First Responders in the new school year.
