Kicking and tag rugby fun at Rugby Tots. 🏉

30th May 2025

The Nursery had lots of fun with Justin from Rugby Tots today.

For our warm up we played the car game, negotiating around each other and following Justin's instructions to run, jump and turn. The children all did very well with their listening skills.

We then progressed to some pre-kicking work, tapping the cones with our feet, knocking them down and putting them back up again. This is to control the tiny movements in our feet and work on our balancing skills.

Next we practiced dropping the ball and kicking it. It was a little tricky but the children soon got the hang of it.

Finally we worked on our dodging, running, spatial awareness and negotiation skills trying to get the tags from Justin. He was very fast but the children managed to get all the tags!

We came together for our warm down which was a listening, passing and try scoring challenge. The red and yellow teams both lined up to see who could score the most tries. A very competitive game ended in a draw.

To quote one of our children 'this morning was so much fun.' We can't wait to see you again next week Justin!
