A massive congratulations to our football team who finished joint winners of the Indoor Tri-County Schools 'Futsal' Tournament today.
The boys played some fantastic football and made it through the whole tournament undefeated. The first match was against Killyman and in a very close contest it was Harry's goal which proved to be the winner.
The next game against Phoenix ended in a 0-0 draw, again a very close game with some great defending from Matthew and Thomas.
Bush PS were their next opponents and Arthur scored a great goal to seal the win in this game, some excellent defensive work from Jack and unbelievable saves from Ollie kept the score to 1-0.
Moneymore PS were next and the boys played very well in this game winning 3-0. Two goals from Harry and one from James. They really clicked in this match with brilliant midfield contributions from Kasten and Arthur. Kasten even won his team a penalty with his run into the box.
Wood PS came next and this was undoubtedly their toughest match of the day. The boys worked very hard in this game and showed great fighting spirit to come back from 1-0 down to level the game with another goal from James. This game finished 1-1.
Their final game was against Cookstown PS and the boys went into this game knowing that they needed to win to share the cup with Woods PS. They all played brilliantly from the first whistle and their hard work paid off when Arthur scored. There was still a lot of defending to do and they all played their part, the game ended 1-0 to Orritor and the celebrations could begin!
