The Nursery had lots of fun with Ronan developing our spatial awareness, gross motor skill and fine motor skills. The children even had a chance to practice their throwing skills - more about that later!
First the children warmed up by moving in different ways to the music.
Next Ronan gave all the children a special elf hat. The children had to balance the hats on their heads and then move to the music in different ways depending on the music - fast, slow, quietly.
While the little elves were resting / sleeping Ronan stuck little popits on the floor. The elves had to negotiate around these and find their own space to move into.
The elves then used their fine motor skills to pull the popits off the wall and floor and collect them in their elf hats! The children worked together to ensure everyone had popits in their hats.
The little elves sorted themselves for colour depending on their hats. They then lined up in two teams and used their elf hats to roll balls to the other team. The elves had to trap the balls under their hats! So much fun!
Finally it was time for some elf fun! The elves practiced their throwing skills by throwing small foam balls at Ronan and Miss Thompson! Lots of fun was had and the laughter was so loud Mr Cheevers could hear it in his office!
There was just time for a 'We did it', a high five and a final dance before the elves had to go back to Nursery. Thank you Ronan for a lovely morning of festive fun and learning.
