⚽ Great Day at Dungannon Swifts ⚽

11th Jun 2026

A brilliant day of football for Orritor PS at the tournament in Dungannon Swifts, with the boys showing great teamwork, effort and attitude from start to finish.

The day started with a tough 0–0 draw against Bush PS, where the boys defended really well and worked hard for each other. From there, they started to find their rhythm:

  • 2–0 win vs Windmill IPS – a solid performance with good control of the game
  • 4–0 win vs Birches PS – some lovely passing and confident finishing
  • 3–1 win vs St Patrick’s PS – a competitive game where the boys dug in well

Topping the group with 10 points (9 goals scored and only 1 conceded) was a great achievement, but to their credit, the boys stayed grounded and just kept focusing on the next game.

In the semi-final, Orritor came up against a strong Cookstown team and edged a close match 2–1, showing great determination to reach the final.

The final against Killyman had a crazy start — three goals inside the first minute, all straight from centre passes, which you don’t see very often! Killyman took their chances well and finished 3–1 winners, but the boys never stopped working and gave everything right to the end.

Huge congratulations to Killyman on the win.

A big thank you as well to:

  • Mr McIllwaine for organising a great tournament
  • Alison McKeown for taking the team
  • Mr Millington for coaching the boys and keeping them right throughout the day

Overall, a fantastic effort from everyone involved. The boys represented the school brilliantly and should be very proud of finishing 2nd overall – a great way to round off the tournament 👏⚽

Well done boys!
