Today, four dedicated members of our Eco Committee proudly attended Ranfurly House in Dungannon to receive our Eco Green Flag —a fantastic recognition of their hard work and passion for sustainability!
But that wasn’t the only surprise… 🎉 Orritor Primary School & Nursery Unit has been named ECO SCHOOL OF THE YEAR for Mid Ulster! 🎉
This incredible achievement fills our entire school community with pride. It reflects the commitment, creativity, and determination of our pupils, staff, and supporters in making our school greener, cleaner, and more environmentally aware.
We are bursting with pride for the amazing children in our Eco Committee! Their passion, creativity, and determination have been the heartbeat of our school’s environmental journey. These young eco-warriors have shown outstanding leadership, teamwork, and care for the planet. Whether they’re leading recycling campaigns, or sharing eco tips with their classmates, they do it all with enthusiasm and a big smile. Their ideas are thoughtful, their actions are powerful, and their commitment is truly inspiring. They’ve proven that no one is too small to make a big difference.
A special thank you to Mrs. Donnelly and Miss McClung, whose dedication over the past two years has been nothing short of inspiring. From eco-friendly projects and pupil-led campaigns to enhancing our outdoor spaces with biodiversity-friendly improvements.
Mrs. Donnelly has been a driving force behind our sustainability efforts, ensuring that eco-conscious values are embedded into school life. She has championed recycling programs, promoted energy-saving habits, and encouraged pupils to take ownership of environmental action.
Miss McClung has brought creativity and enthusiasm to every initiative, inspiring pupils to get involved in making meaningful changes to their surroundings.
