Mighty Maths!

30th Mar 2021

P3 have been learning how to multiply using sets and can count up high using number sequences.

They also had fun playing Humpty Dumpty Multiplying Wall games and have been buying fruit and vegetables in the Greengrocers shop using the multiplication sign on the till. 👍

In Mental Maths they have been learning to bridge 10 when adding and subtracting and they have started to learn some multiplication facts.

They have been learning about weight or mass and are carrying out a number of activities to estimate, compare, order and measure objects and have been finding objects which weigh about 1 kilogram. They even weighed some leaves which they had gathered during the Spring Clean and weighed themselves. One group decided to see what their combined weight was. It wasn’t very accurate but a good effort! 😀

Very well done to David who achieved a Gold Mathletics certificate at home during lockdown. Great work! 👏
